Made Blackberry Jam Today
It is an amazing year for berries. The thicket by the S-bahn railroad tracks across the street is full of blackberries hanging on the brambles like grapes. We kneaded the bread dough for the week’s baking, and while it rose, i snatched a freezer bag, and ran over to the patch. An hour and a quarter later i was back with 1250 g of berries. As soon as the bread, and bagels came out of the oven they made their way it the big, old blue-ware pot for jam.
There is nothing like warm jam on fresh bagels.
